During June and July of 2009, students will study, learn, and experience the city of Beijing, the capital of the People’s Republic of China, which is the political, cultural, historical center of this ancient country, and claims the best collections of China’s treasures of the past.  It is home to Renmin University, where our summer language, art, cultural program has been held since 1988.  Students will also be amazed by the comparison between the modern and ancient eras through different changes in art, economy, and architecture.

After visiting the cultural, historical, and significant sites and scenic places in Bejing and its vicinity, including the Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, Summer Palace,  the Great Wall, watching ball games in the Olympic Nest and performances in the Egg, we will travel through Luoyang visiting Shaolin Temple and Longmen Grotto, Xi’an visiting the Qin Terracotta Soldiers and Han Tombs, and Chongqing, then board the  Cruise Ship admiring the magnificent Three Gorges, then to Wuhan, Nanjing, Lake Tai, Suzhou, Hangzhou and, visit the largest city of China – Shanghai.  We will fly to Hong Kong – the Pearl of Orient for a four day visit before returning home.

We welcome motivated students, who are willing to be diligent and willing to be adventurous, meet new people, and experience different customs, foods, and ways of life!  There will be ARS/ART/DAN/CHI classes offered during this summer.  The application will start in November/December.  For more information, please contact:
